Just simple bike adventures
Sometimes we like to think and plan big. Really the joy of planning a far-off adventure or trek is the core reason that we do it. Planning is the art of thinking so big it seems impossible.
In everyday life, where most of us live, it can be the simple adventures that do our mental health good. Whether it is traveling or outdoor adventures, most people get stuck on big trips.
But when you add it up, you are going to spend a lot more time on small adventures. Plus, the small adventures are good practice for the big ones. Those small ones might just be exploring your hometown. Maybe taking the longer way to work or a different path.
Small adventures are good for big adventures. They help to hone your skills so you can better handle the stress of something bigger. I know from experience that on some longer trips, I have just shut down and wanted to do nothing. Getting some simple adventures in here and there might help that.
Plus the small adventures remind me of when I was a kid. You went out, without a plan. And it sure seemed that most of the time things turned out alright. Long before cell phones and having all the info of the world at your fingertips.
Realize that. There is a case for just wandering.
